Deep Inner Space: Access the Light of Pure Being

Begins Sunday/Monday–March 8th and 9th, 2020

Now Accepting Applications for Immersion 2020! (Limited Spaces Available)

Join us for this 9-Month odyssey into deep inner space: accessing the presence of pure Being that knows no order of difficulty; that knows no stress and has no problems. It is the light of consciousness that informs the brain, and it is the light of consciousness that chooses to break the spell of brain-based negativity. We simply access what is already (and ever) loving, positive and undisturbed. As we rest our attention with the presence of pure Being, brain-based negativity un-wires, and re-wires for peace, ease and happiness!

Pre-requisite to enroll:
–Completion of a Level 1 The Work and EIQ Course;
–Private coaching with Elizabeth;
–3 or more private coaching sessions with a qualified graduate of The Work and EIQ (email me for a list of facilitators).

This Immersion Course has three primary focuses:

The first focus: A deepening of the skills we learned in The Work and EIQ Level 1. The foundation for Level 2 is a demonstrated willingness and ability to identify, face and “hold” disturbed energies (negative emotions) with loving presence.

The second focus: The advancement in Level 2 Immersion is establishment as this loving presence of pure Being.

The establishment occurs through repeated demonstrations best described as Devotion plus Activity.

Devotion is the result of understanding that lasting happiness is knowing and being what I am. Activity is to consistently acknowledge the presence of pure Being: “What is aware of this arising thought, feeling or experience?” What is ever-aware, ever-indwelling, ever-serene?

The third focus: Who is the “someone” who is mentally distressed or emotionally disturbed? As we continue to identify—and resolve—the feelings that drive stressful thoughts, we identify and question a specific feeling: the feeling of “me.” Resolving the feeling of me allows the shift from “person” to Presence. Making this shift requires a bridge, and TERA is that bridge. TERA is how you learn to “take your stand in beingness.”

“Beingness is a different world, a different dimension, to which feelings have no access. That is why any manipulation of feelings can never take us to beingness. Just as we can cut through thinking-ness and go directly to the underlying feeling, so we can cut right through the layer of feeling-ness, boldly, and return to beingness. Take your stand as awareness, no matter what.

“If we take our stand in beingness, there will usually be great upheaval to begin with. There will be a revolt, an uproar. However, stay strong bold, and steady because at the end the feelings lose. Gradually and miraculously things will sort themselves out.

“The moment we take our stand in beingness, the gates to harmony open. To begin with, there is a lot of pressure. There is a big flow of energy through these gates, but the flow is moving in the right direction. Don’t be disappointed if you think you are not getting the expected objective result. There’s not the way it happens. The results don’t come from the objects. Being is a different world, a different dimension.”

I have selected four areas of focus, each offered in a 2-month Module.

These areas are:

–Health, Appearance, Food Cravings and Compulsions

–Work, Money and Creativity

–Fear and Limitation: The Program of Separation

The program is divided into four 2-month modules, plus a 1-month mid-term Practical in July. The July Practical involves each participant hosting or co-hosting a weekly Support Call for classmates.

During the first 6 weeks of each module, we meet in a weekly Teleclass. The remaining portion of each 2-month Module is practical application and partner work. Even though we will use focused topics, the overall “topic” is immersion in TERA, The Emotional Resolve Approach, and the application of emotional freedom in day-to-day life challenges.

In each of the four focused topics, we’ll identify imprinted emotions and uncover what beliefs keep those imprints within us as blocked energies. With inquiry, we’ll question those beliefs and then meet the blocked energies with Presence. We’ll uncover core (false) identities, and grow the capacity to offer them in the form of raw energy, to the space–where they resolve in presence of pure Being.

With consistent exploration and application, we uncover the main lie told by the mind: “Feelings are a threat and a command to shut down” [not]; “Feelings are a threat and a command to judge, react and go mental.” [not].

In the spirit of identifying faulty programs, facing them with courage and allowing the great brain rewire to begin, below is a quote from The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer.  It’s from the chapter “Transcending the Tendency to Close.”

“Everything you see inside is just something you see inside.
It’s not you; it’s what you see.
There is simply the pure energy pouring inside of you that creates the ripples of thoughts and emotions,
and there is the consciousness that’s aware of it.
There is simply you watching the dance of the psyche.
In order to reach this state of awareness, you must let your entire psyche surface.
Every little separated piece of it must be permitted to pass through.
Right now, many fragmented parts of your psyche are held within you.
If you want to be free, it all has to be equally exposed to your awareness and released. [Release all involvement]
But it will never get exposed if you’re closing yourself.
After all, the purpose of closing was to make sure that the sensitive parts of your psyche don’t get exposed.
So you catch on that no matter how much pain the exposure creates, you are willing to pay that price for freedom.
When you are no longer willing to identify with the part of you that is separating itself into a million pieces, you are ready for real growth.
Begin by seeing the tendency to protect and defend yourself.
There is a very deep, innate tendency to close,
especially around your soft spots.” –Michael Singer

We will identify and explore this tendency to close: in relationships, body health and appearance, money and other areas where we have been programmed to–and accustomed to–shutting down. The closing is what delivers the experience of limitation. Limitation is simply not true for what you are, the light of consciousness experienced as loving Presence. Rather, limitation is the effect of repeating the tendency to close.

“You are not who you feel you are. Even if you feel that you are who you feel you are, you are not who you feel you are. A feeling, an emotion is not your real nature. You’re not really a disappointed person. You’re not really a jubilant person. You’re not really a sarcastic person. You’re not a gloomy person. These are feelings that you love, that you live with in great companionship. You live with those in order to have what you call life.

But you’ve got it wrong. You’re not the storm of emotion of rage. You’re not the stormy ocean. You’re really, in reality, you’re the very calm peaceful lake.”–Vernon Howard.

The homework from last week was mind-blowing for me in a way that I don’t feel the same anymore. Much gratitude from my heart.

    “No ‘Me’ to Protect”

Module 1 takeaways. The big one for me is a new willingness to “test out” and really invest in the experiment of living from the perspective of Awareness. (There has been a lot of attachment to seeing “Me” as a materialist/physical perspective, “I am this brain, in this body”, etc.) Inhabiting the awareness perspective has led to much less involvement with drama of thoughts/stories. And a habit is developing to just go directly to sensations/energies, to open to them, let them live. I find there is less concern about Truth or certainty, about winning arguments, about being seen and understood. If “I” am just conscious awareness there is no “Me” to defend or protect. Of course, the old habits have their momentum so I don’t expect a miraculous turnaround, but I’m enjoying the experiment along the way.

    “Baseline Stress Level Going Down”

Sitting with the raw energy of ‘disregarded ‘ – over and over has shifted and reorganized parts of my thinking. I can see and hear it coming now, I jokingly think of it as my old friend, I have an understanding of past events, much less self-judgment about my reactivity when it is related to ‘disregarded ‘. A couple of weeks ago I called a friend/coworker to apologize. I had gotten clear in a homework call that winning and losing was not what I wanted to invest my energy in anymore (with this person) and it was not a powerless surrender like I had been imagining. It was clear and quiet. And the response I got would have started WW3 inside of me a month ago, but that day I saw “disregarded” coming towards me and was able to ask ‘is it true, am I being disregarded?’ The answer was no, and that was so much more powerful than what I had imagined ‘winning ‘ would have been. Takeaway 2 is realizing that I was about to quit a group function because I did not want to feel inadequate. I now know how to work with that. Takeaway 3 is from the last class call. Elizabeth said – awareness has no preference. That has been rumbling around in my thoughts. Awareness has no preference, not good or bad, right or wrong, hot or cold, migraine or no migraine. That is all from identity. This somebody wants credit for having a migraine. And this somebody is curious to try out observing the sensations without the commentary of “ow,” and “when will this be over blah blah blah.” I am taking myself seriously and laughing at the craziness of it at the same time. I am so grateful to Elizabeth for developing and offering this curriculum and for all of you who are sharing this journey with me. My baseline stress level is going down. Thank you thank you thank you.

    “This is Working!”

I have a better understanding of the geography we are traveling through. The old emotions, the energy blocks. That sounded far-fetched and strange. It still sounds strange but I don’t care. I do know for sure that I have tried for decades to do pain a certain way, and it wasn’t working. This is!

    “Loving This Journey”

Growing awareness that I AM awareness. Everything else is what is observed or felt from this expansiveness. The willingness and even desire to let go of all that isn’t me.. Loosening the grip of wanting to control outcomes. I’d become used to experiencing life as someone who is always angry/pissed off; a victim. Now life is increasingly experienced as more peaceful and supportive. I notice that I’m less interested in drama and being right. I’m losing the need to defend or protect “myself” as I repeatedly experience disturbed energies and not only survive, but grow from them. Loving this journey and oh, what a ride it’s been so far!

    “Realizing I Have Choice”

Takeaway 1: Uncomfortable physical sensations are not enemies anymore. When a wave of intense sensations appears within the body, along with stressful thoughts, I immediately focus my attention inward and breathe.

Takeaway 2: I realized I was willing to feel the sensations in order for them to go away. Allowing sensations to be here, without wanting them to go away. Being willing for them to be here with me for the rest of my life. Seeing them as not a threat has been such a relief.

Takeaway 3: I don’t have to involve with the mind, as if bouncing a basketball, giving thoughts more power and strength with every push. I can simply ignore them, regard them as sounds coming from the radio. I see I have a choice here. I’m slowly heeding that realization.

Takeaway 4: I have become aware that it is still more important for me how I do, than how I be. And when I focus on how I am doing, and not on how I am being, I am teaching that you and I are vulnerable beings. Module 1 has triggered my interest and deep longing in experiencing Being.

    “Doesn’t Make Me Afraid Anymore”

My biggest takeaway is that my emotions are no longer running the show (and that I didn’t even realize that they were). I am slowly welcoming the energy of rejection (or fear of it) into my daily life. I have come to realize that this deep-seated energy has been driving me for longer than I can remember. I am now seeing this as a curious thing- “Where will it show up today?” It doesn’t make me afraid anymore. It is still there and I am still responding to it with old habits sometimes, but now I have tools and a plan when this comes up: I realize it, deal with it (TERA), and move on without much of the baggage or habits I had created to deal with the uncomfortable feeling of rejection. The act of “pause” has become my new go-to. And I love it.

  8. F.H.

    “Feels Like Real Humility”

With gratitude: Takeaway 1: The 3-second pause. When first introduced to it through the class, I was excited and wanted to try it out. But when I found myself in situations of chronic reactivity, the impulse seemed to take over. Repeatedly, I found myself ‘failing’ to carry out the experiment, accompanied by the mind-sell; it is not working, I am stuck, despair, fear… A week ago, I found myself in silence at a time when I could simultaneously feel a disturbed energy and reaction to do something. It seemed to happen on its own, and ‘I’ was in awe. Feels like real humility.

Takeaway 2: Dropping the ball in conversation.
During conversations, I am now aware of my habitual tendency or a pull to contribute. It is so good to feel there is something so simple of just seeing that, and being aware of the choice.

    Takeaway 3: Involvement
Noticing the ‘secondary’ reactions and energy (often as a reaction to a ‘primary’ experience, such as wanting something and feeling the lack of that thing) and seeing it as a pull. Again it is great to see that I can be aware of it as a movement, to breathe into it and even consider it with love. Not fighting it.

  9. A.B.S.

“A New Ability to Be Still”

Takeaways? A new ability to breathe and be still where I have had ancient reactivity. An ability to stop, literally, to just sit down and take the time to feel a feeling that arose without even naming it or trying to figure where it came from. And the tools and the partners to go from the names and stories to the raw energy and stay with that instead, all the way to ‘not a threat’, not a command’ and ‘not me’. And the chances to sit in that and feel the expansiveness of awareness. I’ve seen the machinations of my trying to control the world to not hit every emotion and it’s exhausting and absolutely offers no benefit. More than everything though, the living turnarounds are holding the biggest challenge (and resistance) but excitedly the potential for real benefit and change in my world. Thank you Elizabeth so much for holding and guiding us, and to all of you fellows on this amazing journey!

  10. S.B.D.

    “Self is Being Dismantled”

My takeaways from Module 1 include these practices: 1) Pause-free breathing and its stabilizing effect on my nervous system; 2) Uncovering the emotion with the Tail End Exercise and then revealing the disturbed energy with Deep Dive; 3) The ability to let feelings have their life while resting as Awareness; 4) The realization of freedom that answering the three Reality Check questions brings. I feel that my manufactured self is being dismantled and what’s left is what’s true.

  11. R.W.B.

    “Right Where I Belong”

Take away. Yep, I’m right where I belong. And regardless of all the fine reasons mind had for why I had better not join this Immersion, here I am. Incredible. And very grateful.

  12. J.L.

It feels as though this work is moving in me, supporting me every step of my day. Not a day goes by when I don’t think of you and the work we did either in class or in private sessions. I feel deeply grateful to experience that you, and our friends, and this EIQ work, are living with me, in me, and that the understanding and the abilities you have shared with us are here, available for me to use very practically every day. I am using many words here, but this is a most quiet thing.

With immense gratitude for your unending patience and support, for your expertise in sharing your experience and understanding, and for your loving presence that you have endlessly bestowed upon us all through this past, blessed year.
